Portugal's Flagship Venues Finalized for World Cup 2030 Semi-Final and Knockout Stages
Estádio da Luz, Estádio do Dragão, and Estádio José Alvalade prepare for decisive tournament action across Lisbon and Porto.
PORTO, Portugal — The Portuguese Football Federation has finalized the operational distribution for its three designated tournament grounds, with Lisbon's Estádio da Luz officially slated to host one of the marquee semi-finals.
Both Porto's Estádio do Dragão and Lisbon's Estádio José Alvalade will stage major group matches and quarter-final clashes. All three stadiums, which originally opened for UEFA Euro 2004, have undergone smart venue upgrades, including energy-efficient LED floodlighting, 5G mesh networks, and expanded hospitality suites.
Portuguese authorities confirmed that hotel occupancy and fan festival sites in Lisbon and Porto are already being coordinated to accommodate an estimated two million travelling supporters throughout the month-long tournament.
