Historical Legacy
Inaugurated on 2 August 2009 with a 3-0 victory against Liverpool FC, the RCDE Stadium immediately captured international acclaim, winning the prestigious Stadium Business Award "Venue of the Year" in 2010. It represents one of the most cost-efficient and structurally compact venues constructed in modern European football.
Architectural Innovation
Designed with a tight rectangular British layout, the stands sit exceptionally close to the touchline. Its roof structure incorporates photovoltaic solar panels that reduce carbon emissions and feed green power back into the local grid. The translucent outer skin can be illuminated in synchronised light displays.
World Cup 2030 Roadmap
Positioned just 8 kilometers from Barcelona-El Prat International Airport, RCDE Stadium will host group stage fixtures and round of 32 matches, serving as Barcelona’s second high-standard World Cup venue alongside Camp Nou.
